The Law of Reciprocity in Business

Growing up, we all learned to “treat others as you would like to be treated.” But, do you know how this age-old credo applies to the Law of Reciprocity? This law basically states that when someone does something nice for you, you feel the obligation to do something nice for them in return—and it should be your guide when navigating business relationships!

You will build the strongest relationships by doing everything you can to help your business contacts. Treat clients and peers as you would hope to be treated in their positions. Strive to give them as much as they give you. Following this law will show that you are honest, establish your credibility, and prove that you can offer something worthwhile: trustworthiness.

I explore this concept further in my best-selling book with my mentor, Brian Tracy, called Power Principles for Success: Volume 2. I encourage you to give it a read!
